Regulations on privacy

Rules on privacy contain information on how to use and protect your personal data.


These privacy regulations include the methods of handling your personal data for our services on the VaReHo website. In general, these rules apply to the VaReHo portal and its respective content as well as other related sites where these rules are shown at the bottom of the page. Accepting the privacy regulations and the agreement for users during registration, you expressly agree to the use, storage and dissemination of your personal data.

Data controller

By using VaReHo services, you agree to the following: Immobiliare Casa Bella S.r.l. with registered and administrative office at 7, Via Sacco, 23823 Colico - Italy is the holder of your personal data and processes it for the purposes of delivering VaReHo’ services in accordance with the user agreement, these privacy regulations and the principles indicated therein.

Data collection

You can navigate our portal without revealing your identity or other personal information from your account. Once you are registered and have provided us with your personal data, you are no longer anonymous to us. If you choose to supply your personal data, you agree to the collection and use of the same as described in these privacy regulations.

VaReHo can collect and store the following personal data:

  • name, surname, address and telephone number, date of birth, e-mail address and credit card or bank account number;
  • information on the transactions based on the activities produced by you on the VaReHo portal (for example availability requests, bookings and postings of new tourist accommodation backed up by photos, videos and descriptions);
  • information relating to the specifications of the accommodation posted. Including: the composition, facilities, services, geographical position, prices and availability of the holiday homes;
  • information relating to billing and other data supplied by you for the payment of VaReHo fees;
  • information acquired from your interaction with our sites, services, content and advertisements, including information on your computer and connection, statistics on the number of contacts, traffic to and from the sites, advertising data, IP address and standard information on access to the internet;
  • further information that we ask you in order to verify your identity and to protect users from possible fraud (for example VaReHo can ask you to send a personal identity document to verify the accuracy of data posted during registration);
  • information acquired by other companies, such as navigation and demographically-related information;
  • further information supplied by you.

Publicity and Marketing

VaReHo will not sell your personal data or pass it to third parties for marketing purposes without your explicit approval. We might pool your personal data and information that we collect from other companies and use it to improve and personalize our services, content and advertising. If you don’t wish to receive adverts from VaReHo or take part in our advertising personalization programmes, just indicate that you prefer to refuse in your personal section or follow the indications provided in the advert or commercial announcement.


VaReHo collects your personal data firstly to offer you a secure, smooth, efficient and personalized service. You authorize VaReHo to use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • to supply services and customer support at your request;
  • to resolve disputes and finalize issues;
  • to prevent potentially forbidden and illegal activities and respect our user agreement;
  • to personalize, monitor and improve our services, content and publicity;
  • to inform you of our services, send you sales literature, updates and promotional offers based on your preferences;
  • to compare data accuracy and check it with third parties.

Communication of personal data

VaReHo can disclose personal data as a response to legal requests, to ensure that our rules are respected, to respond to disputes when an advert or other content infringes another’s rights and to safeguard everyone’s rights, property and security. VaReHo may share your personal data with:

  • other companies in the VaReHo group to offer combined content and services, assist in identifying and preventing potentially illegal activities and influence decisions on products, services and communications. The other companies in the VaReHo group will use this information to send you sales literature only if you have requested their services;
  • suppliers of services with whom we have a contractual relationship and that cooperate with our business activities (such as fraud investigations and publicity-related affiliation programmes);
  • police forces or other public authorities, to respond to a request relating to criminal investigations or alleged illegal activity;
  • other third parties who expressly request that VaReHo sends your personal data or what you have agreed to when you use a specific service on the portal;
  • other companies, if VaReHo merges with or is acquired by another company (in these circumstances VaReHo will ensure that the new company treats your personal data according to these privacy regulations).

Without prejudice to the above, to respect your privacy and maintain our ability to prevent access to the community by ill-intentioned users, we will not disclose your personal data to police forces, members of public authorities and other third parties without first checking that a court summons, injunction or substantively similar legal procedure is pending, except where we consider the disclosure of the information to be necessary to prevent imminent physical violence or financial loss or demonstrate suspected illegal activity.

Sharing of data on the site

Your nickname will be displayed throughout the VaReHo site (therefore it is available to the public) and is linked to the activities that you perform within it. Other users can see your adverts, availability requests, bookings and feedback. If you access our services using a public computer or computer at an internet point, some of your information may be seen by other users who use the same computer after you. After you have used a public computer, we advise you to log off from VaReHo and delete cookies.

Use of the data supplied by VaReHo

VaReHo permits you to share personal data to complete bookings of holiday homes but not for other purposes. You agree to use the information on users exclusively for the following purposes:

  • for purposes connected to the bookings on the portal and not for unsolicited sales communications;
  • for the use of services offered through the portal or for other purposes expressly indicated in the VaReHo user agreement.

Cookies and statistics

VaReHo uses “cookies” (small files saved on the hard disk) on some pages of its site to allow analysis of access to the web pages, to personalize its services, content and adverts, to study the effectiveness of its promotions and to ensure maximum security for all users. VaReHo reserves the right to carry out research and statistical analysis on the type of users of its site. VaReHo may release the overall results of these figures, without disclosing any names. Some important information on cookies:

  • VaReHo uses cookies to provide the practicality that only cookies can provide;
  • the use of cookies allows VaReHo to identify you and saves you repeatedly having to type in your access password;
  • VaReHo mainly uses cookies which are automatically cancelled at the end of each session;
  • you can always refuse to accept cookies, but this could result in various services of the site being blocked.

Spamming prohibited

VaReHo and its users do not allow “spamming” - the unsolicited and undesired sending of sales and publicity material and information. We invite you to let VaReHo know about cases of spamming by sending an e-mail to our customer support service.

Protection of the account

Your password is the unique “key” that allows you to access your VaReHo personal account. Use complex numbers, letters and special characters and do not reveal your password to third parties. If you decide to pass on your password or personal information to third parties, you will be held responsible the consequences of your account being used. If you lose control of your password, you may no longer be able to control the use of your personal data and may find yourself subject to legally binding actions undertaken on your behalf. Therefore, if for any reason your password is compromised, we advise you to let VaReHo know and change it immediately.

Check and modify data

Once you have registered you can see, check and modify most of the information stored in your personal section at any time. Generally, VaReHo will not modify your personal information manually as remotely verifying your identity is very difficult. We encourage you to update your data promptly in case of changes or inaccuracies. VaReHo will close your account and delete your personal data, as soon as reasonably possible, following your explicit request in the special section on your personal page. VaReHo stores personal data associated with closed accounts to respect existing legislation, prevent fraud, resolve disputes and issues, offer assistance in case of possible investigations, ensure the VaReHo user agreement is respected and undertake other measures according to the law.


VaReHo treats data as property to be safeguarded and uses numerous tools (including cryptography, passwords, physical protection) to safeguard your personal data from non-authorized access and disclosure. However, you will be aware that third parties can illegally intercept or access private transmissions or communications and other users might use your personal data taken from our site in an unlawful or improper way. We are totally committed to safeguarding your privacy and ensuring that this does not occur.

Third parties

With the exception of the cases expressly indicated in these rules on privacy, the present document refers exclusively to the use and dissemination of data supplied directly by the user. If you communicate your personal data to others on our sites or other internet sites, the use and dissemination of data communicated by you can be subject to other regulations. VaReHo does not control the rules on the privacy of third parties and the user is subject to the rules on privacy of such third parties, if applicable. We invite you to research the relevant information before communicating your personal data to others.


VaReHo may modify the content of this agreement at any moment by publishing a new version of it on its website. All new terms and conditions will take effect 30 (thirty) days from the date of publication. Furthermore VaReHo will let you know through the “Noticeboard news” and by sending an e-mail to the address provided by you at registration.
